| Bio: |  hi there! thanx for being interested in my stickering project!! one reason for this project is that i hate how there is negative stigma attached to graffiti.. whereas graffiti is often seen as being destructive, i feel my work gives people a positive, alternative view to their everyday surroundings.. i mean, just think if you walk the same route to work every day & then one day you notice something different + it makes you smile!! i want my work to be that something different!! i feel that most people would be positively surprised instead of feeling a negative infringement on their personal space + public surroundings.. personally i welcome small, friendly distractions into my hectic life & i feel that the imagery on these stickers provides that mind-vacation to people!! stickering is a little bit of everything; performance art (putting it up), political (some can view it this way), guerilla art, stenciling, painting, drawing, paper-craft.. this kind of work relies on the mercy other others; the good intentions of those that put it up, the thoughts of those that view it, & the hope that the next person won’t rip it down + deem it worthless.. real art is about re-invention, re-interpretation, recycling, re-hashing information, re-introduction + re-learning of material.. this sticker project is about the feeling you had when you were younger, when you were drawing on the wall to your bedroom.. you knew you weren't supposed to be doing it, but it felt so good.. you knew you were going to get in trouble when your parents found out, but at that time it didn't matter.. you knew that it was considered wrong, but how could something so wrong feel so correct, so right? capturing that feeling in essence + re-introducing it to people years later, some people react negatively to it + remember the punishments they received from their parents + how society has taught them this is wrong.. whereas some people react with a smile + remember how their mom praised them for their artistic skills, before hurrying to clean your drawings off the wall before daddy got home.. but in order to provide these friendly distractions, this stickers are sent all over the country (and world!), to those that request them or express interest in the project.. they are mailed out just so you plaster them up in your hometown!! and just as i take the time to make the stickers + mail them out, please take the same sort of time to put them up + take pictures, because this journal is an important part of my BFA senior project & will be included in my senior show this December!! it's always exciting to see all the places these stickers are put up & please don't forget to take pictures + make note of where you placed them, so i can post them to the ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} perro_de_tv picture journal..and even though i think this kind of art is amazing, i do not feel it is right to sticker over important signs such as STOP signs & handicapped parking signs!! but there are plenty of other signs + places that aren't important in this sort way, that are just itching to be stickered up!! *peace* ~ JEGZ PS: and if you ever run out of stickers + want/need more, or are interested in the project + want to receive stickers, then please don’t hesitate to contact me!!  click on the link below to see a map of the MANY places where TV Dawg + Friendz have visited so far; CLICKY CLICKY HERE!!
